Charles O. Race of Barrington, IL Carleton, 1950 graduate, wrote to the Carlton Voice 1997 that his wife, Ruth Mary Race’s mother had a roommate when she attended Carleton College, MN graduated with Aunt Oretha in the class of 1924. There is a photo of Charles and Oretha that he submitted to the magazine when he visited San Diego. Aunt Oretha kept in touch with our family by mail for many years plus paid us visits whenever she and Uncle Blackie would fly to Minnesota. They would visit our Grandpa and Grandma Smith on the old farm. Bobby and Ann, too.
