Notes for Nethis Duane ANDERSON
On the 10th of June, 2007, a well attended party was held at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in honor of Nethis’s 90th birthday hosted by Donna, Michelle, Sarah and family. Invitations sent to over a hundred guests and atttended by many more who wanted to give her their wishes for a happy birthday. Hours were from 1 P.M. to 4 P.M.Family and friends were from Winona, Marshfield, Eau Claire, Menomonie, River Falls, Spring Valley, Minneapolis,and -----. She received cards from many who were unable to be there.

Nethis Duane (Anderson) Peterson was born on June 10, 1917 at Overdale Farm in Gilman township, Pierce County Wisconsin. She was the first child of Nim Christopher & Dena Gurina (Danielson) Anderson.

Nethis attended Gilman Mines rural school and then went on to Spring Valley High School to graduate with the class of 1936.

Nethis married Martin Peterson on March 26, 1938. They began farming in Spring Valley, WI. This union was blessed with two children, Duane and Mary. The Petersons farmed until March of 1959. They then moved to Stillwater, MN. Nethis worked for Lakeview Hospital in Stillwater for 25 years in the Nutrition Services area. After retiring, Nethis spent many hours volunteering at the hospital. She was also very involved with her church activities: quilting, Bible studies, card recycling and volunteer coordinatior for funerals. She loved playing cards and Rummikub.

Nethis was preceeded in death by her husband Martin Peterson, her son Duane, her daughter Mary Klinger, her sister Trudella Anderson, her brothers Minnard Anderson and Ernest Anderson.

Nethis’ survivors include her daughter-in-law Donna Peterson of Stillwater, her son-in-law Gene Klinger of Winona. Seven grandchildren: Terry (Michelle) Peterson, Brian (Sarah) Peterson, Mark (Jamie) Callies, Becky Callies, Pat Klinger, David (Pam) Klinger, and Paul (Heather) Klinger. Eleven great grandchildren. Three great-great grandchildren. Sisters Erva Lundgaard of River Falls, WI, Florence Gullickson of Eau Claire, WI, and sister-in-law Della Anderson of Frederic, WI.
