13 Aug, 2005, Mary was taken to the U Hospital in Lacrosse, Wisconsin. after she fell at home in the night. Aug 17 Mary still under hospital care after being diagnosed with encephalitis. Drs. are waiting for her to repond to treatment. On Monday August 22, Mary was transported to Rochester hospital for further tests to find the real cause of her sudden collapse at home.

Mary L. Klinger, age 68 of Winona, died Sunday, April 13, 2014 at Saint Anne Extended Healthcare, Winona, MN.- -Mary Louise was born August 13, 1945 in Spring Valley, WI to Martin and Nethis (Anderson) Peterson. She graduated from Stillwater High School, Stillwater, MN. On May 2, 1969, she married Eugene Klinger in Sioux Falls, SD. Mary was a member of Cedar Valley Lutheran Church, rural Winona and was formerly employed at Super Grow Fertilizer, Valley Wholesalers and Watkins, all of Winona. She was a loving and caring wife and mother. She enjoyed attending softball, baseball and football games of her husband and sons. During her free time she also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and crossword puzzles.- -She is survived by her husband Gene, Winona; five children: Mark (Jamie) of Hudson, WI; Patrick of St. Paul, MN; Becky of LaCrosse, WI; Dave (Pam) of Dakota, MN; and Paul (Heather) of Rochester, MN; her mother Nethis Peterson, Stillwater, MN; seven grandchildren: Cody, Corey, Zach, Alex, Jessie, Andy, and Chayce; one great grandson Rylee; and other relatives. She was also blessed to have four special children in her life, Shawn and Jena Pape, and Mike and Jessie Thicke.- -She was preceded in death by her father Martin; a brother Duane Peterson, an infant grandson Tate, and an infant granddaughter Ella.
