Notes for Elmina Amelia CRIST
Her name was mostly known as Mina. She was diabetic and made her own bread with gluten in it. Being that I never met her, I can’t relate to her life other than what family says. Sewing by hand, she made many quilts of which I own and Gayle Morgan has 2 handed down through her grandma Mary. One of which is the log cabin pattern, I think. In her declining years, Grandma Jenkins was cared for by her daughter, Mabel. The house stills stands in Elmwood. (on Winter St.or Public St.) Mina and Amanda E, were listed in their father’s estate in 1920 as receiving $15.36 each among their half-siblings also recieving the same amounts. Elmina was around 5 years old when her father married Anna Jones.
