Resided at Tn of Bastard, Leeds Co., Ontario. Per John’s Jan 2, 2007 letter, Alexander purchased land (Concession 4 - Lot 8 in 24 Jan, 1824 at Leeds Co., Ont. and parcel was tranmitted in 6 May,1841 to Artemus Judd. Other data in the letter was a list of our Artemus’s siblings. As follows:No dates were issued at this time. All Judds: Thomas, William, Mary, Azra (mar, to Mathilda Stevens), Roy, Benjamin, Rhoda, Alexander and Henry Shallor ( pos. Sailor?). Did this family live in N.Y.?In the 1800 census Alexander is listed in Peru, Clinton, N.Y.In 1812. Abt. 1812, many people in Essex, N.Y. and Panton, VT moved to Canada. Loyalists were offered free land in Canada. 1817 Census of Bastard Twp Leeds Co. Ontario, shows Alexander Judd as head of household at age 43, his children are listed by age group only.
