Notes for Clara Amelia PETERSON
Clara’s pall bearers were:Mike Klawiter, John Pierce, Erik Lindgaard, Wayne Lundgaard, Gary Peterson and Laverne Bertelson. Burial was held at our Savior’s Cemetery, Beldenville, WI Clara would tell us what she remembered about her parents, Her father earned enough money to purchase 60 acres of choice land atopa hill , from his brother, Rasmus. He cleared 10 acres for the buildings and land to till, then left the remaining 50 acres for timber and pasture. He built a rail fence beteen his farm and the neighbor, Weisman, to keep his cattle from roaming. The woods consisted of Maple, Elm , Oak and Basswood. A spring fed creek flowed through the coulee, furnisshed water for the cattle before he dug the well. A log house was erected just east of the existing housewhich was razed to widen the driveway. She and her mother would walk down a steep hill with buckets to get their day’s supply of water.
