Notes for Shirley Jean PETERSON
When a baby, Shirley was baptized in St.Paul’s Lutheran Church and had as her sponsors, her grandpa Ralph Smith, her dad’s sister, Donna Mae Germain and a dear motherly friend of mine, Rose Schultz. Mrs Schultz and her husband, Jake, were hosts for me, as a boarder from 1945, until I was married in 1949. I have their statistics on file. I would need volumes to make all the notes pertaining to Shirley. The health record would be fine until she became very ill when she was in first grade in Oak Park Elementary School. She was hospitalized for 4 weeks with plural pneumonia. Her teacher was helpful allowing her to continue her studies and pass the grade. Mrs. Thompson was her name. From then on she was OK. She and Keith welcomed over their marriage, many pets: Buckwheat, Spanky, Beau, and a chow-Lab mix, Maggie. Maggie, in 2009 was always at Shirley’s side.
