Notes for Gladys Elizabeth PICHT
Gladys was a well-groomed,responsible, active lady all the years of her life. She and Emmett were caring parents to their combined families - Steven and Ann Wolff along with Wayne, Gerald, Bruce and Keith Allen. They lived on Pine St.Stillwater first, then Lakeland, then Mesa, AZ. During Emmett’s final months in Mesa, Gladys was his nurse, caring for him until he needed more intensive care. She then moved to a comfortable apartment complex in Mesa, until she felt the miles too far between her home and the boys and their families. They moved her to Baptist Village apartment in Youngtown, near where Wayne lives. She made friends there to go on her early mornings walks and joined a volunteer group. She was very independent until her diagnosis of cancer slowed her down with treatments. The family felt she needed more care in a nursing home. The Skogens in Tempe included her in their huge Thanksgiving celebration with all her boys and families, incl. Sue’s parents and her families.
