Notes for Thomas HINCKLEY
Thomas and his 3 siblings, with Samuel and Sarah Hinkley were not listed in the passenger list of the HERCULES (1634/35). This family settled first in Scituate, MA and possibly removed to Barnstable, MA in 1640 being listed as a settler there. Thomas Hinckley’s military career is related on pages 14 and 15 in John Hatch’s notes. Then more interesting history in political form is told on pages 15, 16 and 17, continuing his civic activities as Governor.
