Fred and Joyce went with Jeff and Carol & family to Baltimore to visit Carl, Beth and children, Ben and Hannah. Then on to a sightseeing trip through Washington, D.C. After that, they they went on to Boston to see Jeff’s sister, Paulette and family. Then in September, Sue drove most of the way to Portland, Maine where she, Fred and Joyce attended his annual Navy Reunion! At my request, Fred offered his chronological life events: 1947 - 1951-U of M., 2 (?) years in Mankato; 1951-1955, U.S. Navy- Fire Control Technician (arm the guns), 1956-1957 - Pillsbury Mills and met Joyce, 1958-1959 to Mankato State, 1959- married Joyce, 1959-1962, Living in Comfrey, MN then to Wabasso in 1962-1965, 1965 to Shawano, WI then retired! The Navy Reunion in 2007 was held in Branson, Missouri in September. Fred, Joyce and I think, Sue attended Matthew’s Christmas concert at Orchestra Hall in Minneapolis with the Concordia Moorhead Choir. On Saturday, March 29, 2008, the morning St. Paul Pioneer Press featured a front page article citing the 10th anniversary day of a devastating F4 tornado ripping through Comfrey. Clipping it out, I mailed the copy to the Souba’s. Per their 2008 Christmas letter, skipped Fred’s Navy Reunion in Boston in ‘08, but next year it will be in Newport News. Nethis heard from Joyce about their daughter, Ann, who was recently diagnosed and treated for breast cancer in Marshfield, WI.
