Notes for Adelbert WILCOX
Pallbearers at Uncle Del’s funeral were farm neighbors in Twin Lakes area: Henry Vollmer (Mrs Rose Whalen’s father), Harry McGuire, owned threshing equiptment,Walter McGuire (same), Theodore Van Tassel,(Hwy #96 Otto Johnson East side of Twin Lakes, and Eli Brasser. Uncle Del was killed in a runaway accident in Clam Falls, Wisconsin. He farmed the property that was owned by The Sempel family. The school bus driver in the 30’s and 40’s lived there, afterwards. Uncle Del’s obituary states that he came to Stillwater twp. in 1867 at the age of 12 years. After his marriage to Aunt Louise, he conducted a blacksmith shop. Was it for Isaac Staples? Or was his business run from the farm?
