His will was made 5. May, 1577 and proved on 11 October, 1577. He was a small farmer; he owned cattle and and raised a small amount of wheat. He had a small tenement on Steden Street with a barn and 6 acres of land. He also owned land at places called Newman and Chawke. A copy of the will of John Hyncklye is on file. On the 3rd of july 1570 John Hynkley married (2) Avysse Elles at Harrietsham. by whom he was father of a daughter, Annys. Annys was baptized on Jan 1, 1571 or 1572, at Harrietsham.
